A must go hot spring when you visit Sapporo

Houheikyo Onsen

Houheikyo Onsen is located near Jozankei Onsen, about an hour from Sapporo. The hot spring is like a large garden and the scenery is spectacular. The water in the open-air bath is lukewarm, so you can warm yourself to the core by staying in the bath for a long time.

You can bring in your own drinks, so those who do not drive can drink beer as well.

The curry restaurant is also famous, but I recommend a different place, so I just enjoy the hot spring every time I visit.

The open-air bath in winter is especially recommended. Drive carefully!

Note: People with tattoos are allowed here, so foreigners need not worry about getting in! If you don’t like to see people with tatoo, you should avoid this onsen.
